In this book of the New Testament of the Bible, the apostle Paul explains that the forgiveness of sins comes by faith in Jesus Christ and not by our observing the works of the law. Being circumcised doesn’t lead to God’s acceptance. Belonging to the correct ethnic or spiritual group doesn’t lead to God’s acceptance. Obeying God’s commandments doesn’t lead to God’s acceptance. Rather it is faith in Jesus Christ who lived for us and died for us that results in God’s acceptance of us as righteous. Because of our disobedience to God’s law, we are under its curse.
